Yes you can have people join midgame. Saving is a possibility but won't be present at launch-- it's a complex endeavor (to make it able to remember the remote people, and re-link up to them when they re-join). What's more likely is that certain fl…

Yes-- the multiplayer will work across *all* platforms. You'll be able to play iPad to iPhone to PC to Mac to Android, if you want. It's all one protocol. Yes, mage is still capable of doing melee attacks, but you really won't want to. :) It's n…

What is planned right now, re: cracks in walls, etc... is there will be certain weak places in the Keep that open up into bonus areas. For instance, you might run into a door protected by a force field, and approaching it, it'll say "It's some ki…

Crates and barrels, they're just various bits of refuse that have been flung into a corner or against a wall for lack of anyplace else to store them.

That's probably not your laptop, it's probably a bloatware operating system! What's it got, Windows 8?

In doing other games, I've found that usually the solution you don't expect is the one that works... so I hope to get something going where smartphones and PCs can run the same code. Smartphones are getting fast now, though...

Yep, they're breakable... but I might end up rolling that back. They don't look good unless they leave a lot of fragments around after being broken, and that's a whooole lotta polygons to leave laying around...

Stop trying to trick me into saying something! If I say something the whole universe will re-arrange itself to make sure I can't make that day/month/year/generation!

Hola. Yes, Dark got derailed by a dispute where I ultimately prevailed, but not until I had lost the energy and focus to complete the game. At some point I will release it as a free unfinished thing for people to poke around at, possibly even open…

Hola: 1. After the debacle of Solomon Dark, I don't like to give a number-- it feels like I'd curse myself to miss it if I give a date. I'm going to get it out as fast as possible. It's proceeding nicely at this time! May won't happen, because I…

Unless something goes very wrong, YES.

I think when I had to take the forums down from the spam violence I lost a lot of people... hopefully they find their way back. There's a trickle of new users that come in, I know because I have to manually approve everyone's first post as the firs…

Well, it's not survival based... it's more about crafting, building, and trading-- it's a big world, a big MMO. Though part of the changes I'm working on with the part I'm doing now is to add monsters. Also, it's not first person-- the perspective…

Hola, Converting the old ones to android is not going to happen at this time (I've had two people try and give up!). My new development framework works with Android though, so new games will come out for Android-- though, sadly, it will probably b…

Sure... And I'm not offended: I have two kids and I have to be careful about what they see and what comes into their lives too. Why a pentagram: this is mostly about communicating that Solomon is a bad guy. It's a way to quickly telegraph to the u…

The third path would be more supplemental than a straight style of play.
-
Yeah, of course. If you don't code something like that in, someone just makes a utility to do it anyway!

I always assumed gamecenter was irrevocably hacked! Every time I looked into it, in the early days, everyone had a score of 999,999,999. :)

Sagramor, see last week's screenshot. That's exactly what the necromancer class is.
-
Yeah. He'll just be ineffective at using the sword for anything but a prop (without skill/perk boosts). And swords that would out-perform a staff in terms of buffing skills or granting bonuses a wizard would actually find useful would be few and f…

Zed, I agree completely. In SK, the Necromancer will be able to play as a fledgling Solomon Dark. You won't have to skill to manage hundreds of skeletons, but you will manage a small horde.

No, for same reason-- Apple has changed the compiler so much that I can't even get the old code to compile (this is one of the known perils of working with Apple).

It was destroyed by the most vicious spam/hack attack I've ever seen in my lifetime of working with computers.

During the whole brouhaha during Dark, I took work on another project just to keep the bills paid (www.cubiccastles.com). Because I still have obligations to devote time to that, Solomon's Keep will be longer coming out than I'd like. I don't want…

Paladin=Knight + Divinity skill tree Archer=Archer + Sneakiness skill tree Assassin would be in an expansion pack, if the game does well enough to warrant an expansion pack. Ideally I'd have 8 classes when it's all said and done.

Thanks a lot! Solomon's Keep Deluxe will possibly be the "update" to Solomon's Keep-- literally it'll replace the old version. I can't update the old codebase because Apple has what I consider very poor compatibility issues-- they change their com…

Yes. Sadly, I lost steam on "Solomon Dark" and from all the bad memories related to it, I can't finish it. I'm instead folding all that code into a deluxe version of Solomon's Keep.

I had considered combining the warrior and archer at one point. I rejected it because I wanted to have some very specialized fun classes, like druid and assassin-- and those don't fit well in that kind of paradigm. What I'll probably do is either …

I've been down that path. D&D has a lot of redundant spells-- stuff like "cure minor wounds / cure wounds / cure major wounds" ... the type of skill system I want to bring to Solomon doesn't favor redundancy-- ideally, every skill point you get…

Do you mean getting, say, a sword that grants Magic Missile? Yes-- though it won't be quite diverse enough to let a paladin act as a mage. It'll mostly be supplemental skills. But any skill can "technically" be used by any character, if he has a …
