  • Yeah, that's all local data.  Like I said, when I can figure out cloud, this issue will go away... but just my initial glimpses into it make it look like a huge endeavor (like, say, two week's full time work to figure out the hidden tricks and traps…
  • An uninstall removes everything until I can figure out the secret masonic code behind getting cloud saving to work (on both Android AND iOS!  Both of them make it as hard as possible!)
  • @fnafne... yes, it's in my list of todo's... it will PROBABLY happen soon, honestly-- that's the kind of thing I like to do like after I hit a milestone on another project.  I also wanted to add in the ability to make levels "open source" so that ot…
  • It'll get at LEAST one update, to fill out those remaining blocks.  If usage picks up a little bit, one of those empty spaces will be a trigger block, too, because I know that really opens up the possibilities.  But I will probably save all the best…
  • @Kyleseglin if you PM me I can help you get your preferred name (as long as someone else isn't using it).
  • Note that at http://www.raptisoft.com/rwk there is a very simple tutorial that gives a quick description of everything in the game.
  • @OzBoy, the old legacy level sharing system is completely removed.  To being sharing again, you need to create a new account in the new system.
  • I'll consider this.  A project like this is mostly about time.  I'll have to see how RwK performs... it was never a high performing game, but having the ads in it might change that, because it did get a fair amount of traffic.
  • Hi, Google doesn't give us any way to restore "consumable" items like that.  However, if you have your receipts, visit www.raptisoft.com/contact and start a ticket there.  We'll get you fixed up.
  • @fnanfne The ONLY reason to not upgrade would be if you have not uploaded anything you want to keep into Kitty Connect.  If everything's uploaded, it's all good.  iOS11 won't let you access any of my 32-bit filestreams in the game, so while your old…
  • @ozboy I have donations set up to just play one of the more profitable ads (the ones you watch all the way through).  I actually get quite a bit from those, and it doesn't cost my customers anything but 30 seconds of time AND it's way easier to impl…
  • No, Kitty Connect is an old outdated system, so you have to make a Makermall one. However, a Makermall account will work across any and all games that I will produce.  It's the system I'll be using from now on (I wrote it myself this time, so I can…
  • Yep.  I've learned a lot over the past couple months about what signals the modern OS's make and when they can save stuff.  Now my first port for iOS, when I did Solomon's Keep... it would have been touch and go.
  • @Ozboy, actually that's the very BEST way to do it.  What you'll do is look for the /ExtraLevels folder in that IPA, and you should find a bunch of .kitty files.  You can drop any of those into the Windows version I'll release and they'll convert ri…
  • Apple doesn't "officially" support that silent button for games-- you can't detect it (evidently on purpose... they want that switch to ONLY be for the phone ringer).  There's a way to catch it, but it's incredibly convoluted and I haven't worked it…
  • I guarantee you that when you see the solutions to a Hoggy 2 level (I mean the main game, not makermall-- some of the creators use scripting to ruin life) you will ALWAYS slap your head and say "I can't believe I didn't see that!"
  • Incidentally, some of you might have noticed that I was able to convert the old levels from my own account and from Hamumu to share them in Makermall.  So the level conversion stuff is a success, I just need to figure out what method I am going to u…
  • There will be at least one update in the coming month(s), which will fix whatever bugs show up in the first week, and which will add new editor tools to fill up those blank spaces available.
  • I don't object to glitches-- EXCEPT when it's necessary to use the glitches to complete a level.  The only ones I fix are the ones that makes levels look impossible to players-- this causes them to write me e-mails.
  • Because it's a six year old game and I've already been porting too long, and in general RwK never did very well. :) If it does better with ads, I'll revisit stuff, but all in all, it's almost February now, and I would really really REALLY like to g…
  • Yeah, his language is pretty salty, but his diatribes on how Megaman "teaches" about how things work should be viewed by anyone who loves video games.  And especially by designers... HEY ROBOT!  ROCKET AGAINST ONE WAY WALLS AND KEEP ROCKETING!  YO…
  • @fomb as for marking them "expert" etc... no level should be SO expert that it requires using a glitch to win it.  Like-- a glitch to win it faster?  That's fine.  A glitch to skip parts?  I can work with that.  A glitch to solve it at all?  That's …
  • >couldn't you just make lava flicker like the robot while he's invincible? Levels with lots of lava would have to come with epilepsy warnings.
  • No.  As soon as IOS approval hits, it'll go out.  I'm waiting on that at the moment though.  Current status is still "waiting for review" but it should be approved late today or tomorrow.
  • @OzBoy... to make that kind of system would mean a lot of tweaking to my server code... it's not REALLY an option.  I'm working on a process though... I'm thinking let people claim their levels for maybe 3-6 months, then open source all the rest. @…
  • Sheesh, that is glitchier than I ever imagined.  And it's not that good a mechanic-- it looks like its only value is in being able to glitch through the floor, which I dub PLAYER HOSTILE. Well... let me think about what kind of analogue I can do th…
  • Got it... will address some of this stuff in the update (some of it I will let go if it doesn't actually harm anything-- this IS a six year old game...)
  • Well-- I probably won't do a "passable one way" since that's like a concept nobody would ever put into a game (point out any higher-quality or nintendo game with a "one way block that you can nonetheless go through backwards" and I'll reconsider!)  …
  • Probably no way in 2018... the next game after SKUME will be Hamsterball 2, and HH2 would be after that.
  • On 2), it's more that this encouraged some VERY unfriendly (to players) levels.  When a player has to "know all the tricks" to play the vast majority of levels, that's no longer a glitch, it's a crucial gameplay problem.
